God‘s Blessings
In football the quarterback calls the play for a pass. The receiver is to run to a certain point where he is to catch the ball. If the receiver goes in a different direction chances are he’s not going to catch the ball.
So if we are going in a different direction than what God has set out for us we don’t receive the desired results. But if we go where we are told and do as we are asked we will be rewarded.
A loving father does not reward a child when he does wrong. Instead he waits until the child has learned from his error and returned to what he should be doing. The father of course still loves the child and provides for the child’s needs, furnishing the child with a way to return and accept his full favor.
As a child there were more than a few times when I did not do as I should. And believe it or not I was disciplined. But the love and support was always there. And I knew at anytime I could return from my rebellious way and be welcomed.
When I grew and had children of my own and they to sometimes would do things of which I did not approve. I never with held love or anything else they needed. They were however limited on the luxuries they enjoyed such as television, phone calls and visits with friends as well as other special privileges. When they understood what they were doing was wrong and was not good for them, all things were restored to them.
As a good Father, God does not withhold His love from us, but He does not bless us for doing wrong either. It is only when we learn to truly obey God that we can see how truly blessed we are.
So instead of asking “Where is God‘s blessings” maybe we should be asking where are we.

Straight Talk
Straight Talk
Neither fancy words nor rhythms this time. Just straight talk about what I know.
Every one of us has faced trials and times of struggle. And not one of us enjoyed being in the situation. But because of those times we survived and grew to become the person we are now.
I can see the troubled times that surround us all once again. And I can see how some struggle and worry. Their faces contorted with fear, they cry out in pain.
They have forgotten the hard times they faced before. And who it was that saw them through their trials.
He who has the power over all is still there, and still cares.
My life has not been easy. My life has not been hard. My life so far has been a journey with many interesting twists and turns. Some times I enjoy great pleasures, other times not so much.
The lessons I’ve learned mainly came during those times of struggle.
I learned where to place my trust and on where to focus in all times. I learned that no matter how hard it seemed to be at the time I could always count on God to see me through. I must confess there were times I wondered how long the hard times would last. And some times during the good times my praise was not as it should have been. But He was always faithful to me.
I am a man greatly blessed, for I know there is a God and He takes a personal interest in me. I know this not just because someone told me this. But because of what I’ve seen Him do in my life. Every step of the way He has been there watching over me. Yes, there were many times I’m sure He wasn’t too pleased with how I was acting, but He never turned away.
So when again I face tough times I need not worry. Oh, I will probably wonder how God will get me through, but I know He always has and always will.
Because He has blessed me with His love, and that never dies.
He knows my weaknesses and shows Himself to me through helping me to overcome. He blessed me with a help mate to remind me each day that I’m not lucky…. I’m blessed.
When in a night so dark I could not see,
He sent His light of love to set me free.
In times of trails He walks there with me,
His love for you and me will always be.

Guiding Light
Guiding Light
It was on that silent night,
With that star shinning bright,
God gave a gift so we would know
Just how much He loves us so.
It was the perfect gift of love,
That was send from heaven above.
That special gift for you and me,
Was sent that we may be set us free.
On that night oh, so long ago,
When the angels came to show
That we may know and understand,
God’s peace and good will for man.
Let us this night and every night
Reflect God’s love and shine bright.
That all the world may know,
How much God loves them so.
Let us be that beacon of hope
For those who struggle to cope.
Let us head the herald’s call,
And proclaim to one and all,
That gift of love lives on.
God’s love is every strong.
What a gift that came that night,
In a manger, bathe in His holy light.
And in the silence of the night,
He will always be our guiding light.

The Feast
The Feast
There was in this land a rich and generous ruler, filled with kindness and love. Out of his vast wealth he had a desire to share everything with those who knew him well, and respected his name.
The host sent out a call to everyone throughout the land to come and join him at the banquet he had prepared.
Each received a personal invitation and delivered by the rulers’ own son.
Some received the invitation but refuse to attend.
Others came to his home and set at his table but would not eat nor drink.
Only a chosen few did give thanks to their host and dine upon the lavish feast set before them.
When the feast had ended and the ruler rose from the table he summonsed his guards.
To those that came but did not eat from his table, he put outside his gates, because they did not truly know him.
When the last of those who did not eat had been removed and the gates locked behind them, the ruler addressed the few saying, come all I have is yours to share. You are loyal to my house, you bring honor to my name. And here you shall live with me in splendor, wanting not of anything.

The Truth, The Life, The Way
The Truth, The Life, The Way
I was raised on your word,
Lord, I heard it everyday.
But I was a foolish child,
And from it I did stray.
I looked to myself alone,
And forgot the price you paid.
But your love showed mercy,
You are the truth that set me free.
You are the truth, the life and the way,
And the reason I am here this day.
My heart no more filled with strife,
For you gave me this new life.
And it is with joy I can boldly say,
That you now walk with me each day.
When I walked in darkness,
My life was such a mess.
I was blind, I could not see,
The love you held for me.
But you brought your light,
And gave me a brand new life.
With your loving mercy,
You made a brand new me.
You are the truth, the life and the way,
And the reason I am here this day.
My heart no more filled with strife,
For you gave me this new life.
And it is with joy I can boldly say,
That you now walk with me each day.
Although some still point and stare,
Because of you I no longer care.
My heart empty of fear and greed,
You have given me all I ever need.
By the strength of my Lord I say,
I rise and I will follow in His way.

Thank you for all you do
Thank You Lord
While my life was fill with sin,
You came down from your throne
And called me your very own.
Thank you Lord, thank you.
You made a brand new me,
I live now to honor you.
Thank you Lord, thank you.
As I was lost and dying all alone,
You poured out your grace on me.
Undeserving love covered me.
Thank you Lord, thank you.
You alone have saved me,
All the glory belongs to you.
Thank you Lord, thank you.
Even with all my wicked ways,
Your mercy you gave to me,
Your forgiveness set me free.
Thank you Lord, thank you.
All my sins are gone from me,
That my life may bring praise to you.
Thank you Lord, thank you.
Now no more do I walk alone
In every step you’re with me
I once was blind but now I see.
Thank you Lord, thank you.
For all you have done for me,
Now may my life be lived for you.
Thank you Lord, thank you.

God's Arms
(Remember back when we we’re small children and something would frighten us? How mom or Dad would take us in their arms and hold us tight, and we knew everything would be alright?
Well awhile back I had some things bothering me and I was praying. I mean I was giving it all I had. That’s when I felt it, that feeling from long ago. So I wrote this response so you could know.)
Loving Arms
There’s no place I’d rather be, than in your loving arms.
I feel so safe and warm there in your loving arms.
When the world outside becomes so dark and cold
And I tremble in fear as those cold winds blow.
I run to you crying, reach out to me and take hold.
For there’s no place I’d rather be, than in your loving arms.
Where I feel so safe and warm there in those loving arms.
When everyone else seems to turns against me
I know you always want what is best for me.
When my whole world is spinning out of control
You are there to hold me and calm my very soul.
No, there’s no place I’d rather be, than in your loving arms.
A place of comfort and peace so safe and warm
Is always waiting there for me your loving arms.
I’m always safe and secure cradled in God’s loving arms.
Mercy, comfort and peace is waiting there for you
In God’s loving arms.

Show Your Mercy
Show your Mercy (ps 57)
Show your mercy
Show your love
Hear my plea
From heaven above
As the evil ones
Pursue me day and night
I’ll proclaim your holy might
When I am weak
And I feel that sting
Let me take refuge
Beneath your wings
Show your mercy
Show your love
Hear my plea
From heaven above
I dwell among lions,
That threaten to devour.
But I am not in fear,
Because of your mighty power.
My lips shall sing your praise,
My heart is filled with delight.
My house will know of you.
For your ways are just and right.
Show your mercy
Show your love
Hear my plea
From heaven above

His Gift
His Gift
His gift to me is love unending
A new life with Him each day beginning.
He dried the tears I was crying,
With His gift of love undying.
I wandered around cause I didn’t know
That anyone could love me so.
I was down on myself, I couldn’t cope,
I was about to give up hope.
In my dark a light was reaching out to me
And mercy came to set me free.
What a glorious day that was for me,
When God’s own Son smile down on me.
His gift to me is love unending
A new life with Him each day beginning.
He dried the tears I was crying,
With His gift of love undying.
So when you’re down and feeling low,
Unsure of which way to go,
Look to the cross you’ll find Him there,
The one who loves and cares.
His gift to you and me, His unending love,
Comes from the Father above.
Show Him how much you love Him so.
Share His love with others you know.
His gift to me is love unending
A new life with Him each day beginning.
He dried the tears I was crying,
With His gift of love undying.

God Says
God Says
This world doesn’t think much of me
I don’t wear designer clothes
And no I don’t drive them flashy cars
Nor do I have a lot of money
So this old world looks down on me.
But God says……
I’m amazing.
I’m incredible and wonderful.
A perfect child, Made pure by his own Son
When this world starts putting me down
Because of how I look
Or because of the way I speak
Or because I don’t put other down
I smile to myself because…
God says……
I’m amazing.
I’m incredible and wonderful.
A perfect child, Made pure by his own Son
This world can point and laugh at me
When I kneel and pray.
If they look at me strange when I sing
Then they can turn away.
I’m not here to please this world
That isn’t what counts anyway.
And God says……
I’m amazing.
I’m incredible and wonderful.
A perfect child, Made pure by his own Son

Here For You
Here For You
What you need is here for you.
Can’t you see?
It’s always been right in front of you.
Can’t you see?
My love’s always been right here for you.
When you came in from a long hard day,
I was here to wash your worries away.
When you were sick and the days were long,
I was there to comfort and make you strong.
Open your eyes can’t you see
what’s right in front of you
Don’t you understand my love,
Is pure and true.
What you need is here for you.
Can’t you see?
It’s always been right in front of you.
Can’t you see?
My love’s always been right here for you.
When you hurt so bad you could not say,
With tears in my eyes I helped you pray.
When you were confused and got off track,
I searched for you to help bring you back.
Look to the cross and you will see.
What is right in front of you,
Then you will understand His love,
That it is pure and true.
What you need is here for you.
Can’t you see?

Father....
Father…
Father can you see us,
Down here below?
Father can you hear us?
We need you so.
Father forgive us,
We’ve made such a mess.
Father have mercy,
And give us rest.
Father you made us,
To be pure and true.
Father without you,
There’s nothing we can do.
Father can you see us,
Down here below?
Father can you hear us?
We need you so.
Father you gave us,
All that we need.
Father forgive us,
Our wanton greed.
Father you made us,
To praise your name.
Father did you hear us,
In our silent shame.
Father can you see us,
Down here below?
Father can you hear us?
We need you so.

Thought's On Marriage
In the United States one out of every two marriages ends in divorce. And some people believe there is no hope of a marriage lasting. But I think if you look closer you will find there is a way to increase the longevity of a marriage.
The old saying “the family that prays together stays together”, is more than just words. Researchers find that daily prayer in a marriage will greatly diminish the risk of divorce.
Most people look for a mate by several different reasoning’s. Physical attraction, wealth, social status or charm is just a few of the things some look for in a mate. While these are good qualities in a mate, they often forget the most important element, being a Godly person.
We need to first choose a believer who is willing to live by God’s word.
Marriage is not a fifty-fifty partnership. It IS a one hundred-one hundred partnership. Each partner is consistently giving one hundred percent of themselves for the other. It is each ones responsibility to do whatever it takes to buildup the union. By placing God at the center of a marriage, seeking His guidance in all matters, and daily praying with each other, the marriage is focused and strong.
Marriage, even the strongest will face trials and struggles. But if the marriage is based on God’s love and forgiveness these trials will not derail it into destruction.
Even if one partner seems to be giving more than the other, stand firm, trusting in God’s love, display a positive and joyous appearance. Let God work. The other partner may see and desire that which they see in the other and resume the full partnership with God’s help.
It is imperative that Christians strive to repair the family unit which has taken such a beating in today’s world. And the best way I see to show this to the world is by living as God would have us live.

What Father's Do
What Fathers Do
Surrounded by the dark I cried out to you,
And you came and you helped me through.
Father, in the middle my pain and misery,
You came not sparring your love for me.
And now I know that’s what Fathers do.
When in frustration I was angry at you,
Still you let me know your love was true.
When I was weak, thought I could not go on,
Father it was you that helped me stand strong.
And now I know that’s what Fathers do.
In a time when I did not know what to do,
With your mercy you made me brand new.
As tear filled my eyes, I know you wept.
And you stood guard over me while I slept.
And now I know that’s what Fathers do.
You are my Father and will guide me in all I do,
Your promise I claim, knowing I can trust in you.
Every time I have called on you, you came.
And your love always remained the same.
And now I know that’s what Fathers do.
Help me to be more like you,
for now I am a father too.

Mentor
Mentoring
A common sight in this world today is the single parent family. This creates a hardship on the family as a whole especially on the children.
I’m no expert or have all the answers, but I feel children do best when they have both parents to give them love and support.
At times the father will act as a mentor. What is a mentor, you may ask. A mentor is a wise and trusted counselor, supporter and teacher.
The father will instruct his child with his words and actions, showing the child how to do a certain task and explaining each step along the way.
For example a father teaching a child to say a prayer at meal time, may first explain that we are to give thanks for that which we receive from God. Then discuss with the child how we receive everything from God. Explain how prayer is communicating with God. And then say a prayer as the child listens. Ask the child if he understands or if he had any questions. And always be open and honest with the child. After doing this a few times ask the child to say the mealtime prayers. Praise the child’s efforts and courage.
A father should always make time for the child. Spend time with the child, and make it special, playing catch, fishing, go for a walk anything to share time with them. Reading bible stories is a great way to spend time with your child, asking them what they think it’s saying about the person in the story. Talk with them letting them know that they can come to you with anything. Let them know where you stand on certain topics. Ask them what is going on in their life, school, and friends whatever it may be.
Fathers much always remember that there are eyes upon them. His child is always watching and knows when the father doesn’t do as he says.
A father should never make a promise he can’t keep, and keep every promise he makes. This shows the child how to be trustworthy and honest. A mentor does not force but does encourage this will show the child about problem solving.
If the father does make a mistake, and he will, he should not excuse it but explain it to the child. Even ask the child how he would have handled it. This shows the child that you believe in him. It will give him confidence to take on larger tasks.
As a father I feel that it’s a blessing to be a mentor. Watching as the child grows and succeeds, and being there for him if he should happens to stumble. Children naturally want to please their fathers and when the father show an interest in the child the bond grows even stronger.

Walking In That Promised Land
Walking in that promised land
Yes back when I was young,
I was just in it for the fun.
Now I’m not really proud,
Of some things I’ve done.
But so you can understand,
How I know I’ll be walking
In that promised land.
Well it happened a long time ago,
He died on a cross so I’d know.
For this sinner His love did show,
So down those golden streets I’ll go.
Walking in that promised land.
While I was still a sinner He came,
He spoke, called me by my name.
Yes, Jesus gave His all for me,
Just to set this poor sinner free.
Now I’m lead by His Holy hand,
And I’ve done a lot of talking
To one called the Son of man.
When I kneel before His throne,
And all His love for me is shown,
He will call me as His very own.
And we’ll walk in that Promised Land.
Come on friends let go walking,
To the Lord we’ll do some talking.
Reach out and take His hand,
And we’ll walk in that Promised Land.

Father and Farmer
Father and Farmer
A good father are similar to a good farmer, in that they plant the seed and watches it grow. I’m speaking of planting in a child’s mind the truth and wisdom of God’s word.
The farmer not only plants a seed but he does everything he can do to make sure it grows in the manner that it should. He breaks up the hard ground so the tender shoots have a better chance of reaching full growth. He will feed and water the young plant and protect it from outside attacks. He will remove the weeds that threaten the young plant. The farmer does this because he knows how much the young plant will struggle before it can produce fruit.
A good father also does everything he can to insure his child grows up as he should. A good father prepares the hard ground of the unknowing child with love. He will feed the child daily the word of God and watering the child with actions based on God‘s word. A good father protects his child from the harm of this evil world. He will also remove the weeds of doubt within the child’s mind that threaten to stunt the child’s growth. The father does this because he knows from his own life how hard it will be to produce good fruit when surrounded by a field of temptation.
The farmer and the father both understand and accept that it is hard and a never ending task that is set before them.
Where did the farmer gain knowledge to grow strong plants?
He knows from studying and from example of other farmers.
How does the father Gain knowledge to grow a strong child?
He knows by studying God’s word, from prayer (talking with God) and trusting in God’s promise, because God is the only true example of a Father.

Weak or Strong
Weak or Strong
You look and see him mild and meek,
But that does not mean he’s weak.
You look upon him and think him odd,
He puts his trust in an invisible God.
And you think he must be weak of mind,
For to his foes he doesn’t respond in kind.
Why does he not cry, wail and morn,
Nor does he to this world conform?
Doesn’t he have sense to get out of the rain?
Or is he so daft he does not see the pain?
No, this man you call mild and weak,
Has the source of strength you seek.
He has found the truth and understands,
It is upon God’s own word he must stand.
To this world he belongs no longer,
But to his God which is much stronger.
Think, which is stronger the one that stands,
Or the one that give in to the world demands?
You need not struggle alone to stand,
Just take hold of His nail scared hand.
Through hard times His love proves true,
Just as we are, He offers it to me and you.

Welcome Son
Welcome Son
Sometimes my mind is like a spinning wheel,
And it is hard to stand under the pain I feel.
Though my eyes may be clouded and dim,
This old heart of mine won’t let me give in.
He is a part of me, it is just the way I am.
When too weak to walk He helps me stand.
If I should shiver deep within from fear or cold,
I’m wrapped in His warm love, strong and bold.
When my foes attack trying to bring me down,
He brings to me His own royal robe and crown.
Those that oppose can not get the job done,
For that battle fought long ago His victory won.
Bruised, scared, worn and weary I forge ahead,
A promise I’ll claim at the end of this road I tread.
I’ll sit at my Father’s table wrapped in His glory,
Singing His praises and hearing His wonderful story.
There’ll be no more pain; there’ll be no more tears,
There’ll be no more heartache, and no more fears.
I will look full upon His face and see Him smile,
As I hear Him say “welcome son sit for awhile.”

Forgive Me
This I did not write, it is not one of mine. But I love to visit it from time to time.
Forgive Me When I Whine
Today upon a bus I saw, a little girl with golden hair.
And I envied her. She seemed so happy, and I wished I was there.
Suddenly she rose to leave. And I saw her hobble down the aisle.
She had one leg and wore a crutch. But as she passed she smiled.
Oh God forgive me when I whine,
I have two legs and the world is mine.
Later on the way to work. I stopped to buy some sweets.
The lad that sold them had such charm. I talked with him awhile.
If I was late it would do no harm. As I left he said to me, “Thank you sir.
You’ve been so kind. It’s nice to talk to folks like you.
You see, I’m blind.
Oh God forgive me when I whine,
I have two eyes and the world is mine.
Later walking down the street. I saw a child with eye of blue.
She stood watching the others play. And it seemed she didn’t know what to do. So I said,
“why don’t you join the others dear?”
She looked straight ahead without a word. Then I knew, she could not hear.
Oh God forgive me when I whine,
I have two ears and the world is mine.
With legs to take me where I go,
With eyes to see the sunset glow,
With ears to hear what I know,
Oh Lord, Dear God forgive me when I whine.
I’m blessed indeed and the world is mine.

What do you think?
What do you think?
Is it just me, or was I born in another place and time?
In this thing we call life; do the same rules still not apply?
I may be wrong but to me it seems as though people want to pick and choose what rules they are going to follow. And then they keep change the meanings those at their whim.
The golden rule seems to have lost something as it has been past down through the years. Either that or they disregard the rule altogether.
I was taught that I was to treat others as I would WANT them to treat me. Not as they DO treat me. I believe many people today are confused on this matter. They seem to think the other person is to act correctly first. And then they will respond in kind.
I guess it really shouldn’t surprise me though as the “me” minded people of the world seem to have grown at an alarming rate. And we are quick to say well, it their fault or society’s fault. But think a minute; are we not part of society? And as part of society it is our responsibility to improve upon society as a whole. We are then derelict in our duties. In a society each person should be held accountable for his commissions and his omissions.
We as Christians men, women, parents, have sat idly by and watched and waited for someone else to step up and do our job.
As Christians we are to teach the truth, raising our young to follow in the same way and to equip them with the source to grow stronger.
Yes, there is only so much we are responsible for and then it is up to them to follow through. But if we do not plant the seed it can not grow.
Children don’t come with instruction manuals. That is why church is so vitally important both for the parent and the child. A child learns from hearing, seeing and doing. He learns by hearing the word, seeing others apply the word to their lives, and partaking of the experience for themselves. For once the seed has been planted it must be fed or it will wither and die.
I’m not naive enough to say this will cure all the worlds’ ills. But it would go a long way in improving the world in which we live.
As parents, we also learn from each other, as well as our children. We live in a community, so why don’t we communicate? We seem to do a lot of talking but little listening and it takes both to communicate. I learn a lot from those around me in what they say, and how they act and react. I gain a deeper understanding of myself by listening and watching more and speaking less. Oh but I do still make plenty of mistakes but I try to show God glory because of what my Lord did for me.
What do you think? Does the times seem troubled?
Is it just me, or was I born in another place and time?

Praise Be
I'm sorry if I have not been on the blog for awhile. I have been working with the publishers the get my book out as soon as possible. But I have not forgoten you I bring you now a new poem / song.
Praise Be
His nail scared hand lifted me,
From the dark where I could not see.
Yes, God’s own Son rescued me,
Praise be, praise be to
The name of Jesus Christ,
Praise be.
Sinking fast in the deep blue sea,
Waves of troubles were covering me.
But my Lord came and set me free.
Praise be, praise be to
The name of Jesus Christ,
Praise be.
Now no doubt nor worry be,
Because of what he did upon that tree.
He took my sins and set me free.
Praise be, praise be to
The name of Jesus Christ,
Praise be.
He wants the best for you and me.
Now the lame can walk and blind can see,
And from your sins He’ll set you free.
Praise be, praise be to
The name of Jesus Christ,
Praise be.

Family
Today’s Family
I am disturbed by the state of families in today’s world. With the number of single parent families coupled with the ever rising divorce rate, is it any wonder that the children of these families are in trouble? Under ideal conditions the job of parenting is a hard task for two parents. But when one parent is missing the task is multiplied several times over.
Every evil known to man is visited upon the families of today, and when this evil is faced by only one parent it sometimes becomes tragic.
It seems the world has slipped into a “me” mentality. We are only concerned with ourselves. What is the quickest, easiest way to make “me” feel good, make more money and get fancier things? This greedy self indulgent thinking is a cancer that feeds upon the family unit. We work long hard hours that makes us irritable and tired having no real quality time for our families. We excuse this action by saying we are doing it for the betterment of the family. But deep inside we know that to be a lie. We do this not out of need but out of want. We sacrifice what the family really needs, love and parental interaction, for money. And the more money we make the more money we spend and the more we think we need. With this type of thinking we find that even though the parents are in the house, they are not in the family. Where is the love and parental guidance so desperately needed? Now if you take the one of the parents out of the picture, and the one left thinking this way, what you really have is a no parent family.
I am not taking anything away from those who struggle to provide for their family as single parents. I hold them in the highest esteem. I stand in awe of the strength and determination. I applaud their resolve. I know what my mother went through after my father died when I was just ten years old. She worked long hours as a cook to provide my brother and I with food, shelter and cloths. But she never neglected the love and guidance that is also required with two young boys either. Her work never ended; no matter how tired or sick she was she always spent time with us. Her strength came from God, her faith kept her strong. Sunday’s would find us all in Sunday school and church that was her only “day off” from work. And even though we had very little money, she tithed because she knew the Lord would provide. Her every morning was started with a prayer, prayer at every meal and bible reading to us boys and prayer at bed time. And her love is still with me today.
Let me speak now of those who run from the families, to chase their lustful desires. The ones who seek to fill their fleshy appetite will never be satisfied,
There will always be someone else in your eye and nothing in your heart. Not only do they destroy the live around them, but they also throw away the treasure of the loving family. They are of the lowest kind, these greedy, lustful ones that steal the future of the family.
And of the abusive one, you have no excuse! You seek to destroy from within, that which is of the greatest value. You beat, maim and kill that which has been presented to you as precious gems then try to blame them for your actions. You wicked fool, you even lie to yourself.
So with divorce, drugs, promiscuous sex, violence and all these other evils, is there any hope for the family unit? YES! Some may call it and old fashion method, but it works. Follow God’s plan for the family. Put Him at the center of every aspect of the family life. Pray together, worship together and study His word together discussing with one another how God want you to live.
The old saying “the family that prays together stays together”, is more than just words. Researchers find that daily prayer in a marriage will greatly diminish the risk of divorce, from one out of every two, to one out of several hundred. When God’s plan is truly in the family, it can not fail.
People seek to control that which they have no control over. With get rich quick schemes, fad diets, self help books and one guru after another saying they have the answer, we tend to overlook the true answer, the one that has been there all along, the one who created us in love, God.

Carl's Thoughts On ~ Prayer
Carl’s Thoughts On ~ Prayer
Prayer, we believers know it to be a powerful weapon in our arsenal to combat the evil forces of this world. But it is intended to be much, much more than that.
It is our way of voicing ourselves to the Father, much in the same manner as we would speak to our earthly father. We tell Him of our concerns, worries, woes, our hurts, pains and doubts as well as our hopes, dreams and aspirations. We cry out to Him in fear when we are lost and confused. We ask for His guidance in every aspect of our lives. And we ask that He will forgive us when we have messed up.
Like any true father He is there. And He answers every pray. Not always the way we expect Him to answer, because His eye sees more than we could ever hope to see. Quite often He answers and we don’t listen. We think we know what is best for us, or we want to control our life so we refuse to heed His advice. We need to remember when we ask the Father for answers sometimes the answer will be no. As an earthly father must sometime say no to his child because it would be harmful in some way to the child, even thought the child doesn’t realize the danger.
Prayer is not just a one sided conversation. The Father speaks to us through His word and to our hearts; this is why we need to meditate on His word day and night. And when we read and study His word we need to do so with prayer. With an open heart and right mind come alive within His word.
Who are we to pray for? I don’t know anyone who doesn’t need praying for, but especially those which has been made known to you that have special needs. Pray for your friends, family, enemies, your church, yourself, government leaders, the poor, the sick, the lost and me. The list of those in need is unending.
Bring your faults and failings before the Father that He may take them from you. Bring Him your praise as well, for He give to you even when you do not realize it. Even in your pain give Him praise, He is there with you and will see you through. You are His child; much loved He only wants the very best for you in everything.
You can try this; pray with pen and paper. Write out your concerns as you pray; write also what comes to your mind about those concerns while you are praying. Write down anything and everything without thinking about it, and then later read back what you wrote. Then search the Bible for related scriptures. You may find you have a new out look on your concerns. Also keeping a prayer journal is a wonderful way of watching your prayers being answered. Start with a simple journal, date of prayer, content of prayer, date prayer was answered, and how prayer was answered. Pray for them everyday until they are answered. Remember they may not always be answered like we think they should be answered.
Sometimes the Father changes the situation. Sometimes He changes us.

Thank You All
Cedar Hill Lutheran Church,
Praise be to God. He has blessed me greatly with your friendship.
I humbly stand here today to praise God and to thank my brothers and sisters in Christ. My need was made known to you and you rushed to my aid.
We’ve heard it said that God works in mysterious ways. I say God works in AMAZING ways.
I’ve heard that if you didn’t like the way the world is you should change it. But being one man I thought I lacked the ability. It was only through prayer that I saw an answer. And that answer was not me but God.
God can and does still work wonders, as each of us can attest to, and we need not look farther than our own lives.
Each one of us is a gift from God to the world around us. As we reach out to one another, God strengthen the bonds of brotherhood between us. And as we reach out to the lost of the world, God changes lives before our very eyes.
God’s powerful love is at work in us and through us bringing change to the world one life at a time.
Glory to God and Praise to the name of the Lord!

Draws Me Near
Draws Me Near
When my heart is breaking,
And my eyes fill with tears.
He comes to clams my fears.
My sweet Lord draws me near.
With my body racked in pain,
And my mind filled with fears,
He comes and dries my tears.
The one who saves me He is here.
When my time on earth is over,
Yes, I will shed joy filled tears,
For my prayers the Lord hears.
God’s own Son draws me near.
Until that day when I go home,
I’ll serve Him without one fear.
For He is beside me right here,
His grace and mercy ever near.
When I’m called to walk with him,
With my last breath I will cheer.
There’ll be no more pain or fear,
When to my Lord I draw near.

Am I a Father?
Am I a Father
The woman I loved was giving birth,
And I was praying for all I was worth.
She was our first, I was happy and sad.
Did I really have what it took to be a dad?
Dear Father, am I making a mistake?
Do I really think I have what it takes?
Then I was filled with a voice from above,
What all children will need is your love.
My heart softened and the tears did flow,
If I did everything I could, then I’d know.
I knew it would take every minute of the day,
To protect, provide and instruct in everyway.
In the times when doubt clouded the mind,
I had the source where the answers I’d find.
This source is filled with examples of love,
It is the perfect love from the Father above.
I time of joy or need I call and He is there,
He wants to be in it all and His love to share.
He wants to be my strength as I go along,
And I want with all my heart to pass this on.
There is but one lesson I can try to teach, love.
There is but one place from which it comes, above.
Now, men it’s true you can easily plant your seed,
But ask yourself truthfully, am I a Father in deed?

Father & Daughter
I was so proud of my little girl
As she laughed and twirled.
her very first day of school it was,
Her little mind was all a buzz.
I walked her to school that day
Her little hand in mine all the way.
She was excited, but I was sad.
I guess that’s part of being a dad.
In her brand new dress of red,
A tear came, at what she said.
She just stood there with a smile,
And said Daddy stay with me awhile.
Daddy, I want you to know,
Just how much I love you so.
With a kiss I sent her on her way,
To join the others children at play.
She looked back and did not cry,
But I had a tear as I waved goodbye.
I prayed for her when we did part,
That she would be happy and smart.
I’m amazed at how the time flew,
And how quickly my little girl grew.
I sat in the front on graduation day,
I was filled with pride in every way.
Quickly it became her wedding day,
I walked with her and gave her away.
And I cried as sat down by her mother
Our sweet little girl I gave to another.
I waited that night for my chance,
When my daughter and I could dance.
The band played our favorite song
as father and daughter danced along.
She looked at me and saw a tear,
Then she whispered in my ear,
Daddy, it’s time for me to go.
But remember I love you so.
A daughter and her dying dad
sat together quiet and sad.
She said I’ve always loved you so.
What will I do when you go?
I know you will be just fine,
For you have the same Father as mine.
As she laughed and twirled.

I Am Saved
I Am Saved
Praise to the Father, praise to the Son
For grace and mercy has been given to me,
I’m saved by the blood of God own Son
I was lost in sin but my Lord came for me
Praise to the Father, praise to the Son
Because on that cross my Lord got it done.
All praise and glory, to his name, I am saved.
The guilt is no more the price has been paid.
All praise and glory, to his name, I am saved.
The sin has been lifted, no longer weighed.
All praise and glory, to his name, I am saved.
Praise to the Father, praise to the Son

What Fathers Do
What Fathers Do
Surrounded by the dark I cried out to you,
And you came and you helped me through.
Surrounded by the dark I cried out to you,
And you came and you helped me through.
Father, in the middle my pain and misery,
You came not sparring your love for me.

Since I have recieved very few comments on my blog, I've been wondering.
Does anyone really read it?
What would they like to see me write more about?
How many answers will I get to this blog?
Okay... now it's your turn.. send me a comment about this blog.
