I was raised on your word,
Lord, I heard it everyday.
But I was a foolish child,
And from it I did stray.
I looked to myself alone,
And forgot the price you paid.
But your love showed mercy,
You are the truth that set me free.

You are the truth, the life and the way,
And the reason I am here this day.
My heart no more filled with strife,
For you gave me this new life.
And it is with joy I can boldly say,
That you now walk with me each day.

When I walked in darkness,
My life was such a mess.
I was blind, I could not see,
The love you held for me.
But you brought your light,
And gave me a brand new life.
With your loving mercy,
You made a brand new me.

You are the truth, the life and the way,
And the reason I am here this day.

For you gave me this new life.

Although some still point and stare,
Because of you I no longer care.
My heart empty of fear and greed,
You have given me all I ever need.
By the strength of my Lord I say,

Even with all my wicked ways,
Your mercy you gave to me,
Your forgiveness set me free.

All my sins are gone from me,

Now no more do I walk alone
In every step you’re with me
I once was blind but now I see.
