Worship and Praise

Worship and Praise

We worship the loving Lord, for who He is,
And praise Him for the blessings He gives.

The heart of man can not contain,
And so the abundant joy overflows,
From the lips that can not refrain,
Praise rushes forth and our love shows.

As we speak of our life’s change,
We tell of God’s mercy and grace.
With words not our own we proclaim,
For the Lord is with us in that place.

We worship the loving Lord, for who He is,
And praise Him for the blessings He gives.

When we tell of His unending love,
We speak His story, pure and true.
How God came from heaven above,
Because of His great love for you.

While we where still in the darkness,
Our precious Lord brought His light.
He was the price of our forgiveness,
That in Him we may have a new life.

We worship the loving Lord for who He is,
and praise Him for the blessings He gives.

On The Other Side

On The Other Side

When you start to get upset,
Calm your worries,
Don’t you fret.
Cause it won’t matter …
on the other side.

Jesus taught us to pray,
For the trials we face today.
Oh but those won’t matter…..
On the other side.

If storm clouds come our way,
We can smile and say,
Thank you Jesus,
Cause they don’t matter …
On the other side.

Through all of our pain,
Even in the pouring rain,
God’s love does remain.
And it will be there…
On the other side.

Walk with Him today
He will show the way.
We need not fear,
Cause it don’t matter….
On the other side

Mercy And Grace

Mercy And Grace

I could walk around wearing a frown,
But that would only bring me down.
So I choose to put a smile on my face,
Cause I’m blessed by mercy and grace.

What this world thinks won’t tie me down,
I’m promised a mansion robe and crown.
Each day I will rise and run this race,
My Lord right beside me setting the pace.

In this world I have neither riches or fame,
But I have what I need by His holy name.
He called me from dark into the light,
And I’ll stand strong by His mercy and might.

The world tries to pull me in to a sinful game,
But I’m not like I was, I’m just not the same.
His Holy word shows me wrong from right,
And His love says I’m precious in His sight.

I could walk around wearing a frown,
But that would only bring me down.
So I choose to put a smile on my face,
Cause I’m blessed by mercy and grace.

By His love I am set free from sin,
I don’t ever want to go back again.
So I choose to put a smile on my face,
Cause I’m blessed by mercy and grace.
His mercy and grace is enough for me,
And I’ll live for Him, blessed and free.

Now there is no worry, care or woe,
Cause I’m covered from head to toe.
Walking along with a smile on my face,
For He blessed me with mercy and grace.

Rejoice

Rejoice

I went outside to greet the morning,
The sun was shinning down.
I heard the birds in the trees singing,
What a lovely, lovely sound.
I lifted my arms to the heavens,
And praised my Lord out loud.

Rejoice, oh my soul rejoice,
For the Lord is here with you in this day.
Listen to His words and follow in His way,
So that you may know and rejoice.

The cool air like a kiss upon my cheek,
As it calmed my heart down.
The gentle laughter of a small creek,
adding to the symphony of sound.
The sweet perfume filled my mind,
From the flowers on the ground.

Rejoice, oh my soul rejoice,
For the Lord is here with you in this day.
The love of the Lord will guide your way,
So with all that is in you rejoice.

I felt His loving arms surround me,
As I sat there on the ground.
The peace that His grace brought me,
None greater can be found.
He opened up my heart so I could see,
That to Him I am forever bound.

Rejoice, oh my soul rejoice,
For the Lord is here with you in this day.
His love for you can never be taken away,
So rejoice, give thanks and rejoice.

The Future

When I was young the future shown bright ahead,
like a precious jewel held up in the sun.
the mind was swift and the body sure and strong,
straining at the bit the race to be run.

Years pasted as years, with laughter and tears,
no thoughts, worries nor cares had I.
The road seemed so wide and smooth,
the wind in my hair as time went rushing by.

But years grow shorter and the future unsure,
what once was so clear now became a fog.
The strong body now strained to do,
what was once as easy as falling off a log.

The clock ticked, the years past as if a moment,
the race I ran with zest and zeal,
I found to be a narrow path with hills steep.
and all those mistake of my youth I now feel.

As I near the goal and future in close at hand,
though I move on with faltered steps,
there is a warm knowing, growing where I stand.
For where I stand is with my Lord.

A Day

A Day

I would like to speak of a day,
That had neither work nor play.
And it was such a joyful place
Filled with mercy and grace.
Where peace filled the air
I had not a worry or care.

As I sat upon a grassy knoll
Calm caressed my soul.
The warm sun was high
In the bright blue sky.
A gentle breeze kissed my cheek
And I heard the laughter of a creek.

As I smelled the flowers on its banks,
From deep within I gave God thanks.
In the trees I heard the song birds sing
Praise and glory to our Lord God and King.
The winds made the pine trees sway
Dancing in the love of this wonderful day.

In this lovely day neither hot nor cold.
I was filled with awe of God great and bold.
I was surrounded by His wondrous love
Cradled in the arms of God above.
The Creator of all had made this day for me,
That a glimpse of His love I could see.

Because His Son has set me free,
Each day that joyous day lives in me.
And one day when I’m called home,
I will kneel before His loving throne.

Different

As long as I can remember I’ve been one of those people that was different. Even as a young boy I didn’t look at things the same way as every one else. Not that I was a nerd, geek or strange in some weird way. I was just different.
Where some people saw a rain storm as something to fear or be avoided, I saw it as God’s way of clearing the air.
When the snow would fall and the other kids would have snowball fights or build snowmen, I would take the time to bask in the calmness of it’s quiet beauty.
Or when the winds would blow through the pines and other boys would collect pine cones, I’ll be listening to the angels singing God’s praises.
I remember when my dad died and everyone told me I should cry, I wondered why. It wasn’t that I didn’t love him, because I did. And I was sad that I would have him around to talk to or laugh with, but I knew it wasn’t the end. I couldn’t explain it to anyone they didn’t seem to understand why a ten year old boy wasn’t falling apart.
I have had sadness and tears in my life. But in every case God has been right there with me to comfort me and give me peace. Just like He promised he would do in the stories mom used to read me from the bible.
God has a way of showing me beauty through my tear, like a rainbow after a spring rain.
As a teenager I struggle to be like everyone else because I thought that was how I should be. But that only made me angry, at myself and everyone around me. During this time I wrote a line for a song that when something like this:
I tried to live without you,
But that was one thing I just couldn’t do.
There is a lot of thing I can do,
But they don’t mean a thing without you.
Lamb of God, Pure and true,
Your loving word is ever true.
There’s no more to say or do.
I need nothing more than you.

So I went back to being me…. Being different, because that was what God called me to be.

Mama’s Lessons

Mama’s Lessons

Growing up we didn’t have a lot,
But we thanked God for all we got.
Mama probably didn’t think I was listening.
But I heard every word she said,
As she read the bible while I lay in my bed.

I remember Mama’s lessons,
She taught them day and night.
You need to trust in god,
And do what is right.

Don’t follow the world,
It will lead you astray.
But search His word,
Each and every day.
And if you’re ever in doubt,
Open your heart to God and pray.

Well Mama’s now gone home.
But she didn’t leave me alone.
Those sweet words she said,
Are still in my heart and head.

I remember Mama’s lessons,
She taught them day and night.
You need to trust in god,
And do what is right.

She’d said true love,
Comes from God above.
He wants us to know,
That He loves us so.

Now when troubles come my way,
I get down on my knees and pray.
I’ll remember Mama’s lessons,
For the rest of my days.

Apology

I owe you all an apology for being so late in posting anything here. It seems this second book has taken more of my time than expected.
The good news is the book is ready to go to the printers. The bad news is it will have to wait until I recieve my tax refund. I'm having it printed locally to hold the cost down. I may at a later date send it to the publisher for all the fancy bindings.
I'll keep you all advised as to when it will be released. Thanks to everyone who has asked about it.
Now maybe I can visit here more often.

About Lent

About Lent

You need to understand,
It’s not because of what I do,
That makes me the man I am.
It’s by Him that I am brand new.

It was because of my dark sin,
They whipped him, and beat him
Spit on Him and mocked Him.
My sins demanded a terrible price,
But God sent His Holy sacrifice.
The Lamb of God, pure and true,
Paid the price for me and you.

Now we can stand together,
Lift our voices and shout.
The truth has now been revealed,
There is no more fear or doubt.

Because He died on that cross,
We no longer need to be lost.
Yes, our savior paid the cost.
It was God’s love upon that tree,
That suffered for you and me,
So we may from sin be free.

As He spoke, He said it is done,
He had paid for my sins, every one.
Now I no longer seek to sin,
But I long to walk with Him,
Because it’s all about Jesus my friend.
