Brand New Start

Dear Lord it is you alone that I place my trust.

My trust is in you till my body returns to dust.

You have never brought shame down upon me;

Nor have you let my enemies laugh with glee.


No one that place their trust in you will let fall.

You are always close at hand to heed their call.

Shame will come upon those who oppose you;

The treacherous and wicked will know it’s true.


Keep me ever focused on you Lord of my life,

Teach me your ways that I may conquer strife.

Let your precious promises light up my path;

That be always close to you and avoid your wrath.


Guide me in truth and lead me with your love;

For you are my Lord God, my savior from above.

My heart overflows and my lips proclaim your song;

For my hope abides with you alone all day long.


Remember as from old your mercy and grace;

Remember your blood shed for me in my place.

Do not hold me to the sins of my rebellious ways,

But according to your mercy guide me in your way.


You alone oh Mighty Lord are gracious and good;

You came and paid sins price that I never could.

Dear Lord, forgive my iniquities though they be great;

Grant me the wisdom of your word that I may meditate.


Oh Lord my God keep my eyes ever on you,

For my heart knows you love is forever true.

To you who has taken away the evil of my heart,

Let me be reminded that each day is a brand new start.
