Today’s Thought ~ 10 September 2012
As I was studying my bible lesson today two verses jumped out at me. Maybe God is trying to tell me something or maybe He wants me to share it. Or both.
1 John 5:13
I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
1 Timothy 1:15-16
Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life.

God wants us to know we have eternal life and where it comes from.
I can’t tell you everything there is to know about God. That is far too great a task for my mind to handle. All I can tell you is what He has done for me.
Now God has proven to me time and again that He loves me and wants the best for me. He has shown me that He is a loving and caring Father.
I can relate very well to the part in 1 Timothy 1:15 that says; “…of whom I am the worst.” I know what I’ve done in my life, I’ve known my cold heart; I’ve seen my sins. I would be hard pressed to forgive some of them. But that is exactly why Christ came into this world; for a sinner like me.
That other sinners could see how patience He waited on me, and know it is not too late for them to receive eternal life.
The more we hear, the more we know and the more we see God’s promises of love revealed to us. He provided us the way and the way is His Son Jesus Christ.
