Grateful Heart

My Lord, you alone are my God, I seek you;
It is upon your strength alone I do rely.
My source and purpose is found only in you;
Without your blessings I would wither and die.

Food, water and shelter you give to me;
Everything, even the air I breathe you provide.
In times of need you are always with me;
When I cry out, your face you do not hide.

I have walked with you along the rocky road;
I have seen your wondrous glory and power.
You are my stronghold that nothing can erode;
From heaven above love and mercy does shower.

As I rise to greet each day, I will call your name;
As I dress for the day my need for you I confess.
As I lift my hands in Morning Prayer, I proclaim;
It is you alone and your love today I will profess.

As I climb the hill of the day, I cling to you;
My soul rejoices in your love for you lift me up.
From the hilltop my voice will sing of you;
The praise of my heart will overflow my cup.

Only in you have I strength in you alone I stand;
You alone are my comfort and my guide.
Through this journey you lead me by the hand;
As each day your word within me does reside.

You paid the highest price for my salvation;
There is no way that I could possibly repay.
To you alone I owe my all, my life’s dedication,
Out of a grateful heart, I give thanks each day.
