How Great You Are

Oh Lord, my Lord how great you are;
You are with me both near and far.
Bless me with your love night and day;
That I may remain in your loving way.

From forever to forever are your laws;
That point out our weaknesses and flaws.
They remind us all of our great need,
For us to look to you and on your word feed.

Remind me always what you have done;
That I may praise you till the setting sun.
Open these eyes of mine and let me see,
The many blessings you have granted to me.

When storm clouds gather as they will,
I will not tremble but remain quiet and still.
For all my days you have been my guard,
Whether my trials have been easy or hard.

Lord, you knew me long before my birth;
You formed and shaped me and gave me worth.
Great the honor to carry your name with pride;
Let my lips speak out with your love inside.

By your word you lead and guide me right,
Your love quiets and comforts me in the night;
And as I look up and see your shining star
I will remember my Lord how great you are.
