Winter Comes

Winter comes bringing snow,
Mind your step sure and slow.
Some hang their head in dread,
Thinking it is a time of the dead.

But it only sleeps, a time of rest,
It’s just a slowing of pace at best.
It’s a time to think and meditate,
To draw strength and rededicate;
To immerse ourselves in our source
Surrounded by God’s love of course.

Although the air maybe cold out,
As the winds blow strongly about,
We take refuge in His warm mercy,
Knowing His love for you and me.
He stands guard as we hibernate,
No fears do we need to contemplate.

We rest safe and warm in His grace,
A blessing of His promised place.
When Spring blooms forth once again
We will be able to stand strong in Him.

So as winter comes with its chill,
Let us enjoy the calm and still.
And as we enter this land of nod,
Let us draw closer to our God.
