Eyes be Deceived

At night I lie down and ask of you to watch over me,

That in the morning the sun I may once again see.

And in the morning again my requests I lay before you,

waiting expectantly, knowing you will fulfill them too.

You are the Lord my God provider of my everything,

You are the one to whom I pray, my savior my King.

I bow low in your house, as the lowest of the low;

But you call me out, and your wondrous love you show.

Who am I oh mighty king, that you should give notice?

I am worthless, I am nothing; it has been all your choice.

The creator of everything, Most powerful being of all;

Watches over me, and will not let me slip nor fall.

If I am doing the work of the Lord, I know I will not fail.

For if God’s got His hands all over me, I can’t fail!

Who can stand against me?

If my Lord is standing with me?

My foe sees the battle in but one realm;

They do not know that my master is at the helm.

They can only see with their eyes and be deceived.
